iCoffee Machine Review

What better way to start a new day than with a cup of hot coffee? It’s only that visiting your favorite coffee shop daily could cut seriously into your savings.

But what if I were to tell you that you could enjoy coffee shop-quality coffee at home or at the office? All you need is an iCoffee Opus Single Serve Brewer 2.0.

This one-cup machine is an excellent choice for small households as well as small offices. It’s praised by users worldwide, but is it worth the hype? Find it out in our iCoffee machine review.

The Good

Unique SpinBrew technology

Undeniably, the first thing to check when buying a new coffee machine is the brewing performance, and we can tell you’ll be impressed by the iCoffee.

At first glance, it’s similar to the K-cup style machines that use coffee capsules to brew single coffee cups. What makes it special is the SpinBrew technology with hot jets that spin the coffee in the capsule for enhanced extraction of flavors.

Not only your coffee will be more concentrated, but the stirring method also produces a rich, smooth coffee crema that defines the final taste of the brew.

Capsule compatibility

Designed to address the needs of most coffee lovers, this coffee maker is compatible with a wide range of single-use, disposable capsules, including OneCup, RealCup, and K-Cup pods. Not only you have plenty of options, but the great news has yet to come.

The iCoffee comes with a reusable iCup you can use to brew your own coffee blend. With this in mind, there is no need to give up on your favorite coffee shop cuppa. Simply order grounded coffee from your supplier and brew it at home.

Brewing options

Like any coffee machine that respects itself, the iCoffee gives you a few brewing options. You can select the desired coffee strength as well as the desired cup size. Whether you’re after an Italian-style espresso brewed in a 4oz cup or can’t start your day without a proper 12oz Americano, the iCoffee spoils you with choices.

Ease of use

iCoffee has packed a wealth of technologically-advanced features into a simple design. Few buttons and a large knob make it easy to use by everyone.

The unit has an intuitive on/off button as well as an energy saving button. Unlike its previous version that had buttons for setting the cup size and coffee strength, everything on the iCoffee 2.0 is done through a retro-style knob.

A large, LCD screen with blue digits displays your selection, while a simple button allows you to place the pod inside the unit. On the left-hand side, there is the removable water tank, which is easy to fill and also easy to clean. Honestly, you couldn’t get a simpler machine.

The Bad

Aesthetics

Objectively speaking, there is nothing attractive about this coffee machine. It is intuitive and simple to use, but don’t expect it to bring aesthetic value to your kitchen. It looks like those nameless, office coffee makers you’d use without truly noticing their existence. Considering its advantages, though, we can easily ignore this flaw.

Price tag

This coffee machine is expensive compared to other single-serve brewers. Its unique features are really worth the price, though, as this machine can save you hundreds of coffee shop bucks. All in all, the iCoffee is really worth it.

Verdict

The iCoffee Opus Single Serve Brewer 2.0 is an unpretentious yet outstanding coffee machine. It packs unique features; it makes delicious coffee, and is very easy to use and maintain.

Compatible with most K-Cup style coffee capsules and coming with a reusable capsule of its own, it even gives you plenty of brewing options. It might not wow you with its style, but it will with its performance. No doubt, a coffee machine that is well worth your money.
